Description
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — The body that was found in the Flint River on Saturday, Feb. 28 was identified as a missing Dougherty County 17-year-old, according to Coroner Michael Fowler.
Demetrius Hightower, 17, reportedly disappeared in December 2025. The Albany Police Department (APD) said on Dec. 31, 2025 that no foul play was suspected in his disappearance.
Fowler confirmed on Tuesday, March 3 that the body found in the Flint River was Hightower’s.
Officials with APD said their investigation into Hightower’s disappearance remains ongoing.
