ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Days after falling short of making the NBA Playoffs, the Atlanta Hawks announced on Monday that they have fired general manager Landry Fields.
The organization says Fields has been “relieved of his duties” as general manager and has promoted Onsi Saleh to the position.
Saleh will be in charge of all day-to-day basketball operations for the team, effective immediately, according to the organization.
The team also announced they have hired Sportsology Group, strategy advisory group, to help with their search for a President of Basketball Operations.
The Hawks finished the season with a 40-42 record and missed the playoffs for the second straight season.
This comes after a 123-114 loss to the Miami Heat in the last round of the Play-In Tournament to decide the eighth seed in the east.
