ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - A 17-year-old was arrested and charged following a string of break-ins in Albany.

The Albany Police Department (APD) says that multiple reports of vehicle break-ins in areas off Gillionville Road were received on July 15.

Victims reported that their car windows were shattered, and various items were stolen.

APD said officers gathered surveillance footage and spoke with potential witnesses.

Police say that about 15 to 20 cars were targeted.

Through an investigation and review of video evidence, detectives identified the suspect as 17-year-old Deandre Deangelo Williams.

Later that same evening, detectives found his vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in the 300 block of E. Broad Avenue.

Williams was taken into custody without incident and taken to the Law Enforcement Center.

Police say he is facing 11 charges of entering auto, related to the break-ins.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Police are searching for additional suspects. Further charges may follow as more evidence is reviewed.
