Description
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) – Local nonprofit Helping Mamas is confident they will have a great turnout for their first diaper drive.
Patrice Williams, Director of Engagement for Helping Mamas, says the drive is addressing a need that people often overlook, and the need for diapers is ongoing.
“When we think about food, that’s really considered a staple need, but a lot of people don’t think about diapers. So, those are some of the main things we focus on, along with baby supplies in general, like formula, wipes, clothing for babies, and also feminine hygiene products,” said Williams.
On average, 25% of women cannot go to school or work because they lack essential items.
