ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Another spring severe weather event unflows Sunday into Monday. Despite an overcast, Saturday remains dry and warm with highs low 80s. On Sunday showers and storms become widespread midday through the afternoon with a strong storm or two however the severe threat moves in on Monday.

For several days, the southeast has been outlined in a Slight Risk for potential severe storms on Monday. Confidence remains high for widespread severe weather including SGA with Monday a FIRST Alert Weather Day. A strengthening area of low pressure will push a strong cold front into an unstable air-mass across the region. Ingredients prime for severe storms to develop with damaging winds, hail and tornadoes. Across the SGA timing on potential storms 2pm to 10pm Monday. Stay alert and have a plan for protective action.

Drying out Tuesday then another round of rain late Wednesday into Thursday.

Don’t expect a cool down, instead an early taste of summer slides in as April gets underway. Highs rise into the upper 80s near 90° while lows only drop into the low-upper 60s.
