The person convicted of attempting to assassinate Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh was given an 8-year sentence, after the defense asked for leniency.
Conservatives are up in arms at what they deem an extra light sentence, which some say was partially due to the defendant identifying as transgender shortly before the sentencing hearing.
