ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Six people have been shot, and of which one person is dead, following a shooting at Albany State University’s (ASU) East Campus.

Dougherty County Corner Michael Fowler identified the deceased as 19-year-old De-Marion Tayshawn Daniels, of Atlanta.

Fowler told WALB that Daniels died from his injuries at Phoebe.

Multiple agencies are working to piece together what happened. Right now, Radium Springs is shut down and traffic is being diverted.

According to Albany Police Chief Michael Persley, they do not know a motive for the shooting. A suspect or suspects have not yet been identified.

It is still unclear where the shots were fired but we do know it was near the Student Union.

Some victims were treated in the East Campus’s Student Union. The Georiga Bureau of Investigation is on the scene.
