VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - The Valdosta Fire Department is alerting residents about a live burn training exercise happening next week.

Firefighters will conduct controlled burns on April 13 and April 15 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The training will take place on Hickory Road, behind Hog N Bones on St. Augustine Road.

Officials said the exercise gives crews hands-on experience in realistic fire conditions.

Fire Chief Marcus Haynes said realistic, hands-on training like this is essential so firefighters are fully prepared to respond with confidence, precision, and safety.
