LEE COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) – The Lee County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) says a pedestrian has died after being hit on Highway 19 Tuesday night near Sutton’s Landing.

The victim has been identified as Charles Jones. Authorities say he had been reported missing before being struck.

Emergency personnel transported Jones to the hospital, where he later died around 9:20 p.m.

The Georgia State Patrol is assisting with the investigation.
