TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Two of the victims of the deadly shooting on Florida State University’s campus Thursday have been identified.

Former Leon High assistant football coach Robert Morales and Tiru Chabba of Greenville, South Carolina, lost their lives Thursday after 20-year-old FSU student Phoenix Ikner fired shots on the university’s campus.

CBS Miami and the Leon High Athletics Department confirmed the passing of Morales Friday.

Chabba’s family confirmed his passing in a statement from Wukela Communications sent on behalf of his family. The family said he was on FSU’s campus as an employee of a campus vendor.

Chabba is survived by his wife and two children, according to the statement.

The family attorney’s Bakari Sellers, said Chabba’s family is going through the “unimaginable now.”

“Instead of hiding Easter eggs and visiting with friends and family, they’re living a nightmare where this loving father and devoted husband was stolen from them in an act of senseless and preventable violence,” Sellers said.

The Leon High Athletics Department said in a statement Friday that Morales served as an assistant coach with Leon Football “with dedication, integrity, and a true passion for mentoring young athletes.” The athletics department’s full statement read:

“It is with profound sadness that Leon High School Athletics Department acknowledges the passing of former Assistant Football Coach Robert Morales, who tragically lost his life during the Florida State University shooting on April 17.Coach Morales was a beloved member of our athletic community and served as an assistant coach for Leon Football with dedication, integrity, and a true passion for mentoring young athletes. His commitment to the game and to shaping the lives of his players extended far beyond the field. He was a trusted coach, a respected colleague, and a cherished friend to many. The loss of Coach Morales is deeply felt by all of us at Leon High School, especially during this difficult and tragic time. Our hearts are heavy, and we will join the broader Tallahassee community in mourning his passing. His legacy of leadership, compassion, and service will forever remain a part of the Leon Lions tradition. We extend our deepest condolences to the Morales family, his friends, and all who were touched by his life and work.”

Authorities have not released any information about Morales or Chabba.

The campus shooting left six others hospitalized, including Ikner, according to authorities.

The 20-year-old was also identified as the stepson of a Leon County Sheriff’s Office deputy, an LCSO spokesperson confirmed Friday.

Two of those victims are expected to be discharged Friday from Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, according to TMH.

Three others are in good condition and one remains in fair condition, the hospital shared in a statement to WCTV Friday morning.
