ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — A trial date has been tentatively set for J’Shon Price, the man accused in the 2024 shooting death of his girlfriend, Eboni Hood.
Price appeared in court Thursday morning for a docket call in the case involving Hood’s death. He is charged with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Investigators say Price claimed the shooting was accidental. Albany Police detectives filed the original charges based on evidence gathered during the investigation.
Hood’s family says they are relieved to see the case moving forward, though they say the long wait has been difficult.
“Nobody’s life should be this way,” Daniel Hood, the victim’s father, said. “You go to trial, guess what? They’re going to show everything that nobody actually wants to see. For us to even mentally think about that, to have to... They’re probably going to show photos, like how your mind prepares for that. You can’t.”
The case is scheduled for trial on August 17th, although the date could change depending on what motions are filed in the coming weeks.
