THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WCTV) - Due to ongoing safety concerns, Bacon County School District announced Friday that its varsity football game against Thomasville High School has been canceled.
“Bacon County will not travel to Thomasville for tonight’s scheduled game,” Bacon County School District announced in a statement on its Facebook page.
Thomasville City Schools also announced the news Friday. According to Thomasville City Schools’ website, this game was Thomasville High’s homecoming game.
The two schools were initially scheduled to play Friday at 8 p.m. in Thomasville, according to TCS’ website.
TCS says the homecoming queen will be announced Saturday during the homecoming dance and the entire court will be recognized at a home game soon.
WCTV is working to learn what those safety concerns are.
