THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WALB) - Thomasville Fire Rescue (TFR) is searching for the good samaritan who ran into a burning home on Saturday morning.

According to Fire Marshall Jon Conner, a bystander advised the firefighters inside Fire Station 1 about a house fire in the 100 block of Remington Avenue at around 9 a.m.

The fire reportedly started in the attic of an older two-story home in downtown Thomasville in the area of Remington Avenue near Crawford Street, according to Thomas County Fire Rescue Chief Chris Jones.

While there were people inside the house at the time of the fire, they were able to escape without any injuries. No fatalities were reported either, according to Conner.

Fire damage was reported on the 2nd floor of the home and water damage was reported on the first floor of the home. Seven people were displaced in the fire.

Conner told WALB that during the fire, a good samaritan went into the home and knocked on doors inside the residence to alert those inside of the fire.

Conner said is asking for the good samaritan to come to Fire Station 1 so that they can thank them for their good deed. Anyone with information on this person is asked to call (229) 413-9700.
