Description

TONIGHT: Very spotty showers/storms are possible during the evening hours, but most, if not all, rainfall will be eased by 11pm. The rest of the night will be unseasonably warm with low temperatures in the mid 70s.

SUNDAY: Sunday seems fairly similar to the previous day, highs will be in the mid-upper 90s with spotty rain chances. A Heat Advisory is in place through the afternoon as heat indices are expected to sit between 105-110°.

Rain will offer heat relief in the afternoon, but it won’t be widespread at all. A few models suggest a couple showers/storms to fire up in the morning, but chances remain a little lower compared to the afternoon for most.

MONDAY - WEDNESDAY (FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAYS): Rain chances remain fairly spotty through this time frame, but the biggest weather impact will be the heat. Temperatures will soar to near 100°, with feels like temperatures potentially over 110°. Here is the individual day breakdown:

  • Monday: Looks to be the driest day. Temperatures are expected to be in the upper 90s around 100°. Rain chances are isolated.
  • Tuesday: Temperatures linger in the upper 90s near 100°. A front will bring better rain chances during the afternoon (scattered in nature, probably not widespread)
  • Wednesday: The front looks to linger just to our north. Conventionally, this will keep rain chances in the forecast, but models as of now do not show much rainfall on Wednesday. This could change, but for now, Wednesday looks drier. As a result, temperatures linger in the upper 90s near 100°, again.

Extreme heat takes more lives in the US than any other weather-related event. Practice heat safety, and know the signs of heat-related illnesses.

THURSDAY - NEXT WEEKEND: Temperatures slowly begin to decrease, as rain chances increase, all thanks to the stalled front that looks to linger through the end of the week. Thursday through Friday for now still looks brutally hot, in the mid-upper 90s, but models agree that by the weekend, temperatures should settle into the lower 90s. No day looks like a washout, but rather a daily scattering of showers and storms primarily in the afternoon.
