Description
DOUGLAS, Ga. (WALB) - One of several men suspected in the 2020 murder case of Vann Brown has been found guilty on three out of four charges.
A Coffee County jury convicted David Jason Anderson on Feb. 7, 2025.
The jury found Anderson guilty on the following charges:
- Felony murder
- Aggravated assault
- Making a false statement
Anderson was found not guilty of malice murder. He will be sentenced on Feb. 26.
Anderson is the only defendant in the Vann Brown case to be convicted of murder.
WALB is working to get an updated mugshot of Anderson.
The other defendant in the case, Jefferey Harper, will go to trial in April 2025. That’s after Harper’s counsel filed for a change of venue motion in Sept. 2023.
Harper’s trial will be held in Bulloch County after the motion was granted. Jury selection is scheduled for March 31.
In Nov. 2022, Justin Anderson was found not guilty of murder in the death of Vann Brown.
WALB previously reported, Brown died after a fight at a wedding reception in Ambrose on New Year’s Day in 2020.
