Description
COFFEE COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - A suspect is in custody after fleeing from deputies with the Coffee County Sheriff’s Department (CCSO).
On July 24, 2025, deputies with the CCSO took attention to a Chevrolet Camaro traveling at a high rate of speed on Highway 32 West near Warren Carter Road. They attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver, Raul Sendejas, refused to stop.

He led deputies on a pursuit reaching speeds of up to 90 miles per hour.
During the chase, CCSO reports Sendejas drove recklessly through county roads and disregarded multiple stop signs.
CCSO says that he lost control after driving off an embankment near 250 Vine Road.
After reportedly resisting arrest, Sendejas was taken into custody by Coffee County deputies.
He now faces the following charges:
- Felony fleeing and attempting to elude a police officer
- Failure to stop at a stop sign (two counts)
- Reckless driving
- Possession of an open container in a passenger compartment
- Driving on a suspended or revoked license
Sendejas was taken to the Coffee County Pre-Trial Detention Center and placed on a 48-hour hold pending warrants. He remains in custody without bond.
