VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - A spring concert series returned to Lowndes County today, March 21. “Lunch on the Lawn” is part of the 200th Anniversary Bicentennial Celebration of Lowndes County.

The county welcomed the community to enjoy live music on the courthouse lawn for the event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today. The musicians were locals Rob Evans and Zane Ally, performing a blend of blues and rock.

Meghan Barwick, the Lowndes County Public Information Officer, said this is, “a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together, relax during their lunch break, enjoy great live music and savor the beauty of our Historic Courthouse in the heart of Downtown.”

The series will continue next week, March 28, with the Kenji Bolden Trio performing a jazz, blues and funk blend, according to the county.

The courthouse’s address is 100 East Central Avenue in downtown Valdosta.

The county said there will be lunch vendors on site including Jessie’s Restaurant and Catering and Downtown Social.
