Description
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - A clear and calm start to Sunday as temperatures dip into the cool lower to middle 40s. However, we quickly warm up by the afternoon into the upper 70s and low 80s as winds out of the south drive in Gulf moisture. Overnight, a few clouds slide in but remain dry in the 50s.
A more active start to the week as a cold front moves through on Monday afternoon. As the front moves in, showers and isolated storms are possible. A Marginal Risk of severe weather is possible mainly east of I-75. Damaging winds and hail are the main threats, but tornadoes cannot be ruled out. Rainfall will accumulate up to a quarter of an inch for most. All signs of rain will come to an end by the late evening.
We return to a drier forecast by Tuesday but remain warm in the upper 70s and 80s despite the cold frontal passage. The rest of the week is similar with warm highs and partly sunny skies.
