CRISP COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - The Crisp County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is hosting a three-day active shooter drill involving multiple agencies.

The training event is set to take place Tuesday, July 22, through Thursday, July 24, and it will involve law enforcement, EMS, fire, school staff and other public safety personnel.

According to CCSO, Wednesday’s drill will include three different scenarios that will take place from 10 a.m. - noon, 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. and 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.

The training event is being held at the old middle school located at 1116 East 24th Ave. in Cordele.

With this training, the sheriff’s office intends to engage in joint communication planning and simulation, practice managing public information flow during a crisis, coordinate unified messaging across agencies, and build relationships that enhance regional response capabilities.

WALB’s Zoe Wells is in attendance at today’s training, and she will have more on the event in later newscasts.
