CAIRO, Ga. (WALB) - The city of Cairo will be holding a special election in June to fill the seat for the unexpired term of the Mayor, according to a post by the city.
According to a city councilman for Cairo, the mayor resigned to take on the interim city manager position.
The qualifying for the special election starts on Monday, April 7, at 8:30 a.m. and lasts until Wednesday, April 9, at 4:30 p.m. at City Hall, on 111 North Broad Street.
The Qualifying fee for the election is $244.76.
The special election will be held on June 17.
