CAMILLA, Ga. (WALB) - Several roads in Camilla will temporarily close Thursday evening as Mitchell County High School celebrates its 3X State Champion Track Team with a Parade of Champions.

According to officials, the parade will begin Thursday, May 28, at 6 p.m. Road closures are expected to start around 5:45 p.m.

The parade route will begin at the Mitchell County Board of Education on South Harney Street. Participants will travel north on South Harney Street to Stephens Street, then continue to South Scott Street. The parade will then travel north on South Scott Street before turning right onto Broad Street and ending at Perry Street.

Temporary road closures will include:

• Broad Street from South Butler Street to Perry Street
• South Harney Street from Morgan Street to Broad Street
• Stephens Street from South Scott Street to South Harney Street
• South Boulevard Street to Broad Street
• Oakland Avenue at North Scott Street
• Oakland Avenue at North Harney Street

Officials said all northbound traffic on Cairo Road/South Boulevard Street will be redirected to South Butler Street during the parade.

All roads are expected to reopen once the parade concludes.
