ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) -
Flood Watch is in effect for parts locations along and west of the Flint River until 2am Wednesday. Widespread 2-3″ of rainfall may fall today in that area with isolated totals pushing closer to 5″. Flooding will be possible, especially in urban areas. Avoid flooded roadways and use extra caution while driving on wet roadways.

Storms are already starting to develop as of 12:30PM, and they will continue to develop and move north through the afternoon and evening today. Numerous heavy storms are likely through the day west and along the Flint River, while storms become much more isolated the further east you go. Southeastern counties have the least chances for rain today.

Storm chances drop some on Wednesday and Thursday before ramping back up on Friday lingering through the weekend. Numerous storms and widespread rainfall is expected then.
