ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - A Dougherty County nonprofit organization is preparing to support domestic violence victims ahead of Valentine’s Day.
Labor of Love Initiative, founded in 2024, focuses on helping victims of domestic violence. The organization will distribute gifts to those affected by domestic violence Friday, Feb. 13, at the Liberty House at 2 p.m. in Albany.
Kennedy Larkin, founder of Labor of Love Initiative and Ms. Albany, said the organization has partnered with local domestic violence shelters and centers in the Albany and Columbus communities, including the Liberty House.

According to Larkin, victims of domestic violence can feel overlooked around Valentine’s Day, making it a difficult time for them. Labor of Love is designed to help lift them up and make them feel special, she said.
