ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - A Dougherty County family says a $5,000 reward is still up for grabs for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons involved in their loved one’s murder.

“There’s other families out here going through the same thing we’re going through, and I think we need answers,” the father of the victim said. “I’m not just advocating for Justin, I’m advocating for all the victims.”

Officials say Justin Moore, 22, was gunned down along Radium Springs Road on March 5, 2025.

According to the Albany Police Department (APD), Moore and another person were traveling along Radium Springs RD when multiple shots were fired into their vehicle.

In a newly obtained incident report, WALB learned that Moore was the person who called police, even after receiving injuries to his face and a gunshot wound to his leg.

“He’s supposed to be burying me, I’m not supposed to be burying him,” the father of the victim said. “We need to get our act together in this town.”

Moore’s father said that community members and leaders need to shine more light on what could be done to prevent such tragedies.

In 2025, Albany experienced 24 homicides. Records show that as of Jan. 6 of this year, 13 of the cases had been cleared, but 11 remain active— including Moore’s case. Leaving APD is appealing to the community for help to bring justice to victims and their families.

“Law enforcement works tirelessly to investigate these crimes, but we know that the members of the community may have seen or heard things that could be crucial to solving these cases. Your cooperation is vital in making Albany a safer place for everyone.”

“It shouldn’t be no one in this world that determines when somebody should live and when they should die. That’s God’s doing,” Moore’s sister said.

Moore’s sister is also calling for change within the community, as she says footage of her brother lying on the ground was spread on Facebook following the incident.

“It’s just hurtful to see somebody begging for help and nobody helping him. You want to sit there and record somebody instead of trying to save his life. That traumatized the family, we still are traumatized by that,” Moore’s sister said.

Right now, APD says they have no new leads in the case.

They’re asking that if you have any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, please contact their department.

Remember, you can remain anonymous, and a $5k reward is up for grabs.
