VALDOSTA, Ga. (WCTV) - Valdosta State University’s (VSU) new president is opening up about his first month on campus and what he hopes to accomplish.

Dr. Don Green is the 11th President of VSU and he appreciates the spirit on campus and loves the curriculum. Dr. Green says he wants to elevate the university’s STEM programs. He also sees VSU as a great place to help launch future business leaders in South Georgia and North Florida.

“In one year, there will probably be four new degree programs that are truly unique, that change the brand of what Valdosta State University is. You’re going to see far more students who are employed in internships or research opportunities with the community. You’re going to see the community on this campus more,” Green said.

He’s working toward more partnerships with the City of Valdosta and local employers so graduates can stay in the community and promote local growth.
