Description
VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) — More than 100 people showed their support for the 2026 Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Saturday, Oct. 17.
Teams made laps around the track at Valdosta Middle School. The Alzheimer’s Association set a $23,000 fundraising goal for this year’s walk.
Prior to the walk, the 34 participating teams had raised $21,707. Organizers say donations have since topped $22,000, leaving the effort $598 shy of the goal.
Funds raised support research aimed at curing Alzheimer’s and all other forms of dementia. In recent years, researchers say they have made strides toward a cure and treatments that slow the disease in its earliest stages, making early detection critical.

Edward Jones served as national presenting sponsor and has partnered with the Alzheimer’s Association for the past decade.
