ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - A man who is accused of trying to entice an 8-year-old for indecent purposes was arrested Tuesday, Oct. 21, the Albany Police Department (APD) said.

The man is Brian Richard Smith, a 32-year-old, according to APD. Smith was reportedly arrested by APD’s Family Protection Unit.

Smith is charged with aggravated sodomy, enticing a child for indecent purposes, and child molestation.

WALB has also learned that Smith’s cellular device was found with images and videos of the child. It is also uncertain what the relationship is between the victim and the suspect.

APD said that this investigation is active, and that additional charges are pending.
