Description
LEESBURG, Ga. (WALB) - A Leesburg man will spend life in prison after pleading guilty to aggravated child molestation and aggravated sexual battery.
Southwestern Judicial Circuit District Attorney Lewis Lamb says Jack Dewayne Stroud Jr. received two concurrent life sentences on those charges in a Lee County courtroom this week.
Lamb said Stroud faced a child molestation charge in a separate case as well. Therefore, in addition to his life sentences, Stroud also received 20-years’ probation.
Lamb pointed out that as a part of the plea deal, Stroud waived his right to appeal his sentence. Lamb said that means Stroud will serve at least 30 years in prison.
Assistant District Attorney Trevor Vanzant served as lead prosecutor in the case, and Assistant District Attorney Cania Brown-Gordon served as co-counsel for the state, Lamb said.
