(WJAR) — The Karen Read murder trial begins a new week of testimony on Monday.

The Bristol County woman is accused of backing her SUV into her Boston police officer boyfriend, John O’Keefe, killing him during a snowstorm in 2022.

The defense says someone else killed O’Keefe.

Last week Sgt. Yuri Bukhenik was questioned about how he collected evidence. He was also asked to read an extensive chain of flirtatious text messages between Brian Higgins and Read from January 2022.

Higgins is an agent with the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
