ATLANTA, Ga. — A judge has denied bond for a teenager accused of shooting another student at Warner Robins High School, according to documents.

At a bond hearing Thursday morning, Judge Katherine Lumsden denied bond for the 14-year-old suspect.

The teen is accused of shooting another student on Aug. 12 after a verbal altercation turned physical. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment and survived.

The school was closed for the rest of the week, and has employed crisis counselors as the community continues to heal.

The teen has been charged with aggravated assault, theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a pistol by a person under 18 years of age, disrupting public school and carrying a weapon within school safety zones.

Documents note that this is the teen’s second charge of possession of a pistol by a person under 18 years of age.
