PHOENIX, Ariz. (KPNX) – A woman in Arizona is expressing her distaste with President-elect Donald Trump in a way that is impossible to miss.

Outside her home, the unidentified homeowner has hung an effigy of Trump wearing an orange jumpsuit with his mouth duct-taped shut.

Political signs surround the effigy in front of the home in the Tempe neighborhood.

Neighbors are talking about the decoration, with many in support of it and others finding it morbid.

“I just think it looks lovely,” the homeowner said. “People have to feel free to come by and take a look at it. Take pictures.”

She said she created the display because she disagrees with Trump’s policies and beliefs.

“I just got frustrated. It’s my way of showing my frustration,” she said. “You know, if people don’t like it, that’s too bad. As far as I’m concerned, I still have the right freedom of speech and until that gets taken away, it’s not coming down.”

The display has been up since before the 2024 Election, but she recently moved it to the garage.

Neighbors said that is when it went too far.

“It’s her free speech … hanging somebody seems to me it’s a little overboard, but I understand her feelings and so it’s up to her,” one neighbor said.

The homeowner said the intention was not to imitate a hanging, however.

“It’s just hanging because that’s the only way I can hang them up,” she said. “It’s hanging around the skeleton and it’s hanging on two hooks.”

Regardless of their feelings, nearly everyone agrees she has the right to display her own views.
