REST OF WEEK: Rain chances start to fall and we look drier on the back end of the week. Temperatures will start steadily climbing as a result. High humidity will crank feels-like temperatures to near 110° for some potentially. This seems to be the most likely forecast for the end of the week, but things could change depending on what happens with the disturbance expected to form in the Atlantic. More on that below.

TROPICAL TROUBLE: The National Hurricane center highlighted a fairly large area along the east coast extending from northern Florida through the Carolina coast, placing a 20% chance for development within the next days.

Long term forecast models depict a low forming and meandering westward towards the coast. Its possible this storm could organize and intensify in the Atlantic which would cause for rough beach conditions from Florida through the Carolina coast for much of the work week. Fortunately, pretty much every model shows this system weakening significantly before directly moving near the coast.

  • FIRST ALERT: What’s left of it late in the week is still being hammered out by the models. However, depending on that and its trajectory, this could throw a monkey wrench into the forecast for South Georgia. We could see way more clouds and even showers sneak into the forecast starting as early as Friday lingering through the weekend. As of now, it looks more likely we don’t see much impact from this potential system, but there is a chance we could. Keep an eye on the forecast through the week, especially if you have any plans along the east coast.
