ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - The identity of the person discovered inside a vehicle following a tragic car fire in November 2024 has been confirmed.

Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler has identified the deceased as 37-year-old Tragarious Robinson.

The fire occurred in the early hours of November 10, 2024, near the 700 block of 9th Avenue. Firefighters, after extinguishing the flames, found Robinson’s body inside one of the three vehicles engulfed in fire. Initially, there were difficulties identifying the victim due to the severe damage caused by the fire, but after further investigation, Coroner Fowler was able to confirmed Robinson’s identity.

During the initial stages of the investigation, authorities were uncertain about the cause of death. Coroner Fowler has ruled out any foul play and confirmed that Robinson was not shot before the fire. The cause of death has been attributed to smoke and soot inhalation.

“We were able to determine the cause of death was consistent with smoke inhalation and soot exposure,” said Coroner Fowler. “There was no indication of gunshot wounds or other trauma before the fire.”
