ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - “It happened so fast. When I came back, [the dogs] came up on me,” the victim, Debra Dawson said.

Dawson says these dogs are known for attacking other neighbors, but this is the first time they got her.

”I just want some justice. Some kind of laws need to be made so people tie them up or something because you can’t walk anywhere,” Dawson said.

Albany’s Police Chief Michael Persley reminds pet owners to make sure they have secure areas for their animals.

“If you don’t have a good secure area and your dog is able to get out and roam around the neighborhood, you are still responsible for what that dog does,” Persley said.

Dawson calls this attack terrifying and says it could have been prevented.

“It could have been some babies or little children. It could’ve been somebody else. I could’ve been dead or something,” Dawson said.

This is an ongoing investigation, but the owners have been charged with animals at large and the dogs are being held at the Albany Humane Society.
