CINCINNATI (WKRC) — The IRS is still offering stimulus payments worth up to $1,400 for some Americans. Here's how to check if you qualify.

The IRS announced that it was putting aside $2.4 billion for Americans who did not claim the Recovery Rebate Credit on their 2021 tax returns, also known as the stimulus check.

In addition to those who filed their 2021 tax returns but did not claim the Recovery Rebate Credit, Americans who did not file a 2021 tax return at all may also be eligible, but they must file it by April 15.

Those who are eligible will receive a letter in the mail notifying them that they have started receiving payments. There is no action that eligible parties have to take in order to begin automatically receiving the $1,400.
