LEE COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - The Georgia State Patrol (GSP) confirmed May 24 that a trooper was rear-ended in Lee County on Philema Road. Both vehicles sustained “disabling damage,” according to GSP.
The accident happened on May 23 at 7:24 p.m., GSP said. They said the trooper was driving southbound on GA-91 when they saw a vehicle speeding past them going northbound. The trooper made a three-point turn on GA-91, intending to pull the speeding driver over, GSP said.
Then, another vehicle rear-ended the trooper’s patrol car, according to GSP. GSP said both the patrol car and the other vehicle were damaged in the accident.
No details have been released about the status of the drivers at this time.
