CRISP COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - A man who was originally stopped for a possible window tint violation was arrested when a Crisp County deputies located a weapon, drugs, and a significant amount of cash in his vehicle.

At about 3:15p.m. on May 20, a deputy with the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the area of 22nd Avenue and 9th Street due to a possible window tint violation.

The deputy reported detecting a strong smell of marijuana once approaching the vehicle and making contact with the driver, 32-year-old Javin Olds from Centerville. The deputy also noticed that Olds’s seatbelt was improperly buckled behind his back.

When a backup unit arrived, deputies conducted a search of the vehicle was conducted.

During the search, deputies found several bags of marijuana, a loaded handgun, a pill bottle without a label containing white and orange pills, and a significant amount of U.S. currency.

Olds was arrested and transported to the Crisp County Jail.

He faces the following charges:

• Possession of controlled substance with intent to distribute (3 counts)
• Possession of marijuana
• Possession of controlled substance (2 counts)
• Possession of firearm/knife during crime
• Possession of tools for commission of a crime
• Drugs not in original container (2 counts)

In addition to those charges, Olds also received window tint violation and a seatbelt violation.
