CAIRO, Ga. (WALB) - The Grady County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with state agencies and local organizations to conduct a count of homeless individuals in the county.
The initiative, called a Point-in-Time Count, involves the Georgia Department of Community Affairs and T & S Foundation to locate and count people experiencing homelessness.
The sheriff’s office said the count helps ensure Grady County is accurately represented in state records, which could open the door for future state funding, resources and services.
State records currently show zero homeless individuals in Grady County, according to the sheriff’s office.
The sheriff’s office is asking residents who want to help locate people experiencing homelessness to call 229-377-5200.
