(TNND) — Google announced Monday it will comply with President Donald Trump's executive action to rename the Gulf of Mexico and Denali.

The Gulf of America and Mount McKinley will appear on Google Maps as soon as the Geographic Names Information System is updated, the company explained on X.

We have a longstanding practice of applying name changes when they have been updated in official government sources," the post read. "When that happens, we will update Google Maps in the U.S. quickly to show Mount McKinley and Gulf of America.

Former President Barack Obama changed the name from Mount McKinley to Denali in 2015 after a three-day trip to Alaska in honor of the region's native population.

Trump signed an executive order shortly after taking office last week saying, "It is in the national interest to promote the extraordinary heritage of our Nation and ensure future generations of American citizens celebrate the legacy of our American heroes."

In the order, Trump criticized Obama's decision to rename Mount McKinley calling it "an affront to President McKinley's life, his achievements, and his sacrifice."

Google noted that only users in the United States will see both changes because "When official names vary between countries, Maps users see their official local name. Everyone in the rest of the world sees both names. That applies here too."

Trump has also called for U.S. expansion into Greenland and the Panama Canal.

In response, Anders Vistisen, a Danish member of the European Parliament, told Trump that purchasing Greenland was not an option.

"It is not for sale,” Vistisen said. “Let me put it in words you might understand. Mr. Trump: F*** off."
