Game Changer: Thomas Everitt Balances Football, Faith, and Service

Description

What’s up, sports fans? This week’s game changer is Thomas Everitt , a standout football player whose impact goes far beyond the field.

Everett, a dedicated athlete, says football has given him a platform, but his true passion is using his time and talents to serve others.

“I’ve gone on mission trips with my church,” Everitt said. “I’ve been to Casa Hogar, an orphanage in Mexico. They bring in kids who may not have the best living situations and give them a chance at a better life, with the goal of drawing them closer to Christ.”

Everett has plans to return to Casa Hogar during spring break, raising money to make the trip possible. His service doesn’t stop there—he’s also heavily involved in campus clubs through his church, stepping up whenever there’s a need.

“I love that experience, just going there and helping in whatever way I can,” Everitt explained. “The Bible talks about leading by serving. You have to serve those around you—your teammates, your coworkers, your leaders. Even when you’re not the one in charge, you can lead through service.”

Everitt credits his parents for keeping him grounded and balanced as he juggles football, school, and volunteer work.

“I’ve got a great set of parents,” he said. “They make sure I’m not doing too much, but also understand that I like to do a lot. They’re always there as a shoulder to lean on.”
