According to WGXA archives, the shooting happened at the Best Western on Riverside Drive when Love and two others drove up to Macon from Florida to sell 5 pounds of marijuana to Udeh and Jamir Culbreath. Love was shot and killed during the purchase.
Prosecutors said surveillance video from the night of the shooting showed multiple cars arriving at the hotel parking lot, along with Culbreath getting into the backseat of Love's car. The DA's office said that's when a struggle began and gunfire erupted, killing Love.
Culbreath pleaded guilty on Aug. 15, 2025, to voluntary manslaughter and aggravated assault. He's been sentenced to 40 years in prison.
Udeh pleaded guilty to aggravated assault on Monday and was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
The two other offenders, Isaac Adesina and Javacea Battle, each pleaded guilty to selling marijuana and firearm possession during a felony. They each were sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Macon-Bibb District Attorney Anita Howard released a statement following the final guilty plea.
"This case represents a stark reminder of how illegal drug transactions can spiral into deadly violence in mere moments," said District Attorney Anita Howard. "These guilty pleas ensure accountability for each person who played a role in this tragedy. My office remains committed to prosecuting those who bring violence to our community.”
