WORTH COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - A Sylvester Police (SPD) officer is on administrative leave pending the results of a family violence investigation in Worth County, according to the SPD chief. The officer was reportedly arrested on Oct. 7 in connection to the case.

The officer is Ryan Fraley, 26, of Poulan, according to the Worth County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO). The incident was at 11:45 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4, the incident report said.

Fraley was arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 7 for simple battery (family violence) and a second time on Wednesday, Oct. 8 for influencing witnesses.

In the family violence incident report, officials had to mark what type of weapon was used in this case. They checked the “hands/fists” option.

The incident report also noted that both Fraley and the victim had consumed alcohol on the night of the incident.

The report said no children were involved.

SPD Chief Ronald Jackson said Fraley has been on administrative leave since Tuesday, Oct. 7. Jackson said he cannot comment further as the case remains under investigation by WCSO.

District Attorney Patrick Warren said Fraley was also arrested in June 2024 in a criminal trespassing incident. WCSO said the details of that arrest are not eligible for public release.
