CORDELE, Ga. (WALB) -Cordele police arrested a 62-year-old man after a stabbing that sent a 32-year-old victim to the hospital on Friday, May 21.
Officers were called to Crisp Regional Hospital around 6:30 p.m. Friday after the victim arrived by personal vehicle with stab wounds, according to police. Investigators said the stabbing happened at a business in the 300 block of West 16th Avenue.
Police said the victim was able to provide information about the suspect and what led up to the incident. The case was then handed to the Criminal Investigations Division.
A short time later, officers located the suspect at his home in Drayton, where he was taken into custody without incident and brought to the Cordele Police Department. Police said he was charged with aggravated assault.
The victim remains hospitalized. Police said no additional information will be released as the investigation continues.
