ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - FEMA is offering free rebuilding tips to Tropical Storm Debby and Hurricane Helene survivors in Coffee and Effingham counties.
Survivors can get these tips at the following locations:
- Lowe’s in Douglas, located at 1340 Bowens Mill Road SE
- Lowe’s in Rincon, located at 5150 Hwy. 21 South
FEMA Mitigation Specialists will be available to answer questions and offer home-improvement tips along with proven methods to prevent or reduce damage from future disasters. They will also offer tips and techniques on rebuilding hazard-resistant homes.
FEMA specialists will be available at both Lowe’s locations from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday, Jan. 6, through Saturday, Jan. 18, except Sunday, Jan. 12.
Survivors also have access to Georgia Disaster Recovery Centers. The centers open in South Georgia are:
- The Atrium in Douglas at 114 Peterson Avenue N.
- Brooks County AG Building in Quitman at 400 E. Courtland Avenue
- Valdosta State University Foundation, Inc. in Valdosta at 901 N. Patterson Street
