COFFEE COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - A serious scandal has shaken the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office after a detective was removed from duty and later arrested following allegations tied to a domestic incident.

According to officials, the Sheriff’s Office was recently made aware of domestic-related incidents involving one of its own employees. The detective was immediately placed on suspension as leadership launched an internal policy review.

Sheriff Cole then contacted the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), requesting an independent investigation to ensure transparency and accountability.

Following the internal review, the employee, identified as Shantokeo Rolax, was terminated for violating agency policy. The GBI has since arrested Rolax on multiple charges connected to the incident.

Authorities say additional details will be released as the GBI’s investigation continues.
