ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A Delta flight turned back to the Atlanta airport Tuesday because of a cabin pressurization issue, according to the airline.

Flight 826, a Boeing 757-200 plane with 165 passengers aboard, landed safely at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport at 7:41 p.m., a spokesperson for Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines said.

The aircraft was on its way to Santa Ana, California, when it had to turn around, according to flight tracking website FlightAware.

“The crew of Delta flight 826 followed established procedures to safely return to Atlanta following a cabin pressurization issue,” the airline said in a statement. “Nothing is more important than the safety of our people and customers, and we sincerely apologize to our customers for the experience and delay in their travels.”
