ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A Coweta County deputy and a detainee were injured in a crash Sunday morning on Interstate 85, the sheriff’s office said.
The deputy had detained a driver on I-85 before 7:50 a.m. when a second driver rear-ended the deputy’s vehicle, the sheriff’s office said. The impact pushed the deputy’s vehicle into the detainee’s vehicle.
Both the deputy and the detainee were taken to hospitals. The driver of the second car was charged with several traffic violations.
