HOUSTON COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - On Sunday, May 25, a Cordele man was arrested in connection to a double homicide in Houston County.

According to the Houston County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), at around 6:35 a.m. on Sunday, the HCSO’s Patrol Division went to the 200 block of Woodland Trail in Warner Robins for a death investigation.

When deputies arrived, they found two women dead with gunshot wounds at the scene. The women were later identified as 29-year-old Re’Dashia Boston and 49-year-old Virginia Gail Boston. It was quickly determined that the cause of death for both women was homicide.

HCSO said that 29-year-old Rashad Williams, of Cordele, was identified as a person of interest in the case.

At around 7:30 a.m. the same day, the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) joined the investigation and began searching for Williams. At around 3 p.m., the Worth County Sheriff’s Office also joined the investigation.

At around 4 p.m., Williams was found in an abandoned farmhouse in Warwick and taken into custody without incident.

He was arrested and charged with two counts of murder. He is currently in the HCSO Detention Center.

Additional charges are expected as the investigation continues, according to the sheriff’s office.

A spokesperson with the CCSO confirmed that Williams has a criminal history in the county. According to the Georgia Department of Correction’s (GDC) database, Williams was sentenced on charges of sexual exploitation of a child and statutory rape in 2014. He was also sentenced in charges of false report of a crime, financial identity fraud, and driving with a suspended license in 2021.

In August of 2024, Williams was released from Rutledge State Prison, according to GDC.
