COFFEE COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - A Coffee County man was arrested on meth charges following a traffic stop.

According to the sheriff’s office, on the evening of April 21, 38-year-old Anthony Charles McGuffin was riding a bike against the flow of traffic, creating a “hazardous condition.”

Duputies saw this and stopped him. During the stop, deputies conducted an investigation resulting in the discovery of a small container containing a white powdery substance and a number of pills.

A field test conducted by deputies confirmed that McGuffin was in the possession of meth.

He was then taken into custody and taken to the county Pre-trial Detention Center.

McGuffin was charged with:

• Violation of Georgia law 16-13-30, which addresses the purchase
• Possession, manufacture, distribution or sale of controlled substances or marijuana.

The sheriff’s office said the drug unit was alerted, and the investigation is still ongoing.
