COFFEE COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) – The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is putting a new twist on crime-fighting and it’s getting results!

By blending social media savvy with a touch of humor, CCSO has launched “Taxi Tuesday” on Facebook, offering a “free ride” to anyone with outstanding warrants.

In a creative and sarcastic new approach, the Sheriff’s Office posts photos of individuals with active warrants on their official Facebook page. The message is clear: if you see your face, they’ll gladly pick you up with a “complimentary taxi ride” straight to the Coffee County Jail.

Since launching the campaign, CCSO has posted about a dozen wanted individuals, and nearly half have already been captured either turning themselves in or humorously enough, calling to accept the “taxi” offer.

Coffee County officials say this fresh social media strategy, which is also linked through their official app, is helping to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the community, all while keeping the streets safer.

Anyone who recognizes someone posted or who has information is encouraged to reach out to the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office.
